2011 // An Overview

January 19, 2012

2011 was an amazing year for me. I turned 30, finished graduate school, and photography became my full time job. I’m incredibly thankful for all that has been given to me, and still in awe of what a year it was – hard, exciting and really really good. Here is part one of a roundup of every single wedding from last year.

Thorpewood // Sean and Katie

December 21, 2011

Now that the bulk of wedding season is over I’m getting the chance to go back and blog all of the wonderful celebrations from this last year.
I remember the first time I heard from Katie inquiring over email since it really set the tone for the day. She said something like ‘Hi Sarah, I’m getting married to Sean Mitchell on August 6th!!’ I could hear the excitement through the email. Katie said she felt that she practically ran down the aisle in her hurry to get to Sean and get married. The whole day was like that, just full of tears and excitement for these two. The woodsy setting of Thorpewood with the rain drizzling outside made everything feel so cozy and in Katie’s words,
“At one point I looked around the dining room and at each table everyone was smiling, eating and laughing (three of my favorite things) and I was just overcome with a huge sense of love and happiness. This was everything that we ever wanted – to be surrounded by the people we love most; people who have helped make us who we are as individuals and as a couple. They were just having a great time, they were there to support us and our marriage, and it just felt like a complete moment – nothing was missing – and I got to share that special moment with my best friend, my husband. So, I cried. Hard.”
Congrats Sean and Katie!

Just one frame from Shaun and Katie’s wedding at beautiful Thorpewood, more to come soon.
