One thing I love about living in the Baltimore/DC area is the exploding art and small makers scene. I was excited when DomiCile Magazine asked me to pair up with Claire Harper for a tablescape for their current issue. Claire’s styling and creativity amazed me as she created a woodland themed setting with gorgeous watercolors and kokedama. I love photographing living things but it is nice to mix it up with beautiful objects that can’t wiggle away from me. Head over to Domocile for local food, art and activities in the Maryland area!

August 27, 2015Foxwood Co
August 6, 2015I am thrifty. When I was younger being thrifty meant shopping low end chain stores. Now I realize that there are hidden costs to almost everything, and if we aren’t paying someone else is, in some way. Now I try now to buy fewer things that are better and last me longer. And I find that I use them more and treasure them. The amazing husband and wife team behind Foxwood Co have something really special going on. They are incredibly talented artists and their labor of love cutting boards, planters and servers fall squarely into the heirloom category. I was thrilled to be able to help with some of the photos for their new site. Take a peek at their beautiful work online and find them locally at Salt and Sundry, Becket Hitch and many of the artists pop up shops in Baltimore and DC.
Tata Harper Vermont Farm Visit
February 28, 2014About a year ago I discovered Tata Harper’s luxurious natural skincare line and fell in love. When Caitlin from The Glitter Guide invited me with her on a trip to visit Tata’s farm I jumped at the chance. I already believed in the quality and philosophy behind the line, but seeing where it all happens and hearing Tata talk about how she sources her ingredients, not compromising on any aspect of the line made me even more excited about what she is doing. We had a wonderful stay in Tata’s guest house decorated with antiques and special keepsakes. Tata’s husband Henry showed us all around the farm and told us hilarious stories, then we met up in the offices for an ingredient smelling session and to pepper Tata with questions. After a lovely dinner we collapsed in the guesthouse beds. In the morning we made another sweep around the farm with our coffee, greeting the chickens and checking out Tata’s garden (still growing lavender in the middle of winter!), greenhouse and herb drying facility before heading home. Caitlin’s take on the visit is up on Glitter Guide, and there are also a few more photos on the Darling Magazine site.
Kajs Jewelry Lookbook
November 23, 2012I’ve had such a hard time keeping these images under wraps since we shot late summer, but just in time for Small Business Saturday my friend Karin is opening her physical shop for her gorgeous nature and Scandinavian inspired jewelry! I am lucky enough to own several of her pieces and they are breathtaking, they get nonstop compliments. One of my favorite things about her is that she does custom jewelry. When I found a piece of blue-green sea glass on the beach with my husband in Puerto Rico she made it into a beautifully meaningful ring for me. We’ve spent a lot of time shooting her individual pieces but got to have some fun at Fossil Beach creating her lookbook images, and this this is a little preview. Visit her at 79 Maryland Ave. in Annapolis or her site for Christmas gifts, winter engagements or a stunning treat for yourself!
